A Letter from Dennis Martin
I recently attended the Ambulatory Unit at Falkirk Royal to undertake a Colonoscopy.
I had completed the bowel screening and subsequently spoke to Janice for an assessment. This was on a Monday. I asked “how soon?”. She replied “how about Thursday?”. I was rather taken aback and settled for the following Monday.
I attended and received excellent treatment from Vivienne and the team. Sandra was looking after me and she was super including a cup of tea and shortbread (I hadn’t eaten for over 30 hours) and Alison who distracted me with some welcome chit-chat. Unfortunately due to my medication the removal treatment was postponed until the following Monday April 1st. I had no problem with this – it was attention to detail.
I attended on the Monday and once again received excellent care and attention from Ann. I was seen by Janice who showed me photographs taken the previous week and explained everything about the procedure.
I am sending this message because I wanted to record my deep felt appreciation of the professionalism, care, openness and friendliness of everyone I had contact with. I would like Janice, Vivianne, Sandra, Ann, Alison, Barbara and the rest of the Endoscopy team to know they are a credit to their profession, to Falkirk Royal Hospital and the NHS. THANK YOU LADIES !
