A letter from Linda Smart

When my husband was admitted to the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) the first time, they very quickly assessed him and undertook all necessary tests which were done with the greatest of care, at the time, my husband had deteriorated quickly and due to their quick response, he was later admitted to the respiratory ward.  My husband after a month, came home to us and after five weeks was taken ill again and again admitted to AAU who, having all the previous information, immediately started aggressive treatment, we had complete faith in the team who treated our family with great care and only due to their dedication and professionalism, gave us a short while longer together as a family. I’m sure many families, like ours, cannot say enough to thank all staff in the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for their continuing work.
