“Dignity and Compassion”

Jacqueline was my named nurse when I attended on the 31st July for an appointment at the Ambulatory Care Unit of Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

She welcomed me to the ward and explained in clear language, what was happening and why. She completed all the info required from me and wasted no time in getting me to my bed where further explanations were given. There was never too much info given at one time. It is hard to remember when attending for a medical procedure and you are a bit scared!

She performed her duties diligently but with dignity and compassion. She even let me stay longer in bed as my husband could not collect until later! She took me to theatre as she said she would, and was beside me at the beginning of the procedure. She introduced me to the surgeon  and the nurses who were going to be working on me.

When I got back to the ward she was there to remove “things” and help me with my bag before organising the best cup of coffee and shortbread I have ever eaten she deserves my thanks…and YOURS!
