‘Impressed With the Standard of Care’

I was an urgent referal to the OMF dept last Friday for treatment for an infected abcess. The receptionist who sat outside the main entrance door to OMF was really cheerful and set the tone for an excellent patient experience from start to finish. Dr Jane Shearer and her junior doctor colleague were first class and when later admitted to Ward B31 on Monday 6th June I was impressed throughout by the standards of care and professionalism of all the medical and support staff I encountered during my 3 day stay.

In the OMF dept there were no hooks for coats/bags on the rear of the toilet doors so people would presumably be putting these things on the floor of the toilet which may encourage the spread of infection. This may be something inexpensive to consider with a likely positive impact.

Apart from that very minor observation though, I would like to say how impressed I was by the standard of care and attention received. Please pass on my thanks to all concerned.
