NHS Forth Valley anaphylaxis training is aimed at all registered healthcare staff who are involved in administering drugs and other substances to patients. Appropriate staff to complete this course would therefore include:
- AHPs involved in invasive procedures (e.g. Physios / Radiographers who inject patients)
The aim of Anphylaxis training is to provide staff with the knowledge and skill to understand:
- What anaphylaxis is?
- Who gets anaphylaxis?
- What causes anaphylaxis?
- How to recognise anaphylaxis
- How to treat anaphylaxis
- Follow up of patients with anaphylaxis
The Anaphylaxis training will require staff to complete a education and assessment module via the “Learn Pro” eLearning platform. On successful completion of the assessment part of the module staff will be able to print a module completion certificate which will be valid for 1 year.
NHS Forth Valley’s Resuscitation Department HIGHLY RECOMMENDS that staff complete this module prior to attending the life support course appropriate for their level.
