The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Stirling Community Hospital treats patients from across Forth Valley and is open from 9am to 9pm, 7 days. No appointment is necessary and you can be treated for a wide range of minor injuries.
- minor burns and scalds
- infected wounds
- sprains and strains
- cuts and grazes
- minor eye injuries
- minor ear injuries (not infections)
- minor head and neck injuries
- suspected broken bones (staff can arrange X-rays and apply plaster, if required)
*Please note the MIU is unable to treat minor illnesses, back or hip injuries
The Unit is located on the ground floor of the former maternity unit. This is at the back of the site and can be accessed via the Bellfield Road entrance, just along from the main hospital entrance.
The MIU treats and assesses adults and children over the age of one year. Children under the age of one with a minor injury should be taken to the Emergency Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
GP Out of Hours Service
Alongside the MIU, is a GP Out-of-Hours Service which operates from 6pm in the evenings until 8am in the morning on weekdays, and provides a 24 hour service at weekends. It can be accessed via NHS 24 on 111.
