NHS Charities Together Community Partnership Grants
NHS Charities Together is the umbrella organisation for the country’s NHS Charities and has raised over £100 million through its COVID-19 Urgent Appeal with the funds being distributed amongst NHS charities throughout the UK.
Forth Valley Giving has already received and distributed £81,000 in respect of Stage 1 Urgent Response Grants and NHS Charities Together have now launched Stage 2 Community Partnership Grants funding with £126,000 available for distribution within the NHS Forth Valley Board area.
What is the purpose of Community Partnership Grants?
Community Partnership Grants are intended to support the wider NHS and voluntary community dealing with COVID-19. Examples of potential projects are:
- Managing the transition of the elderly from hospital to home;
- Mental health support;
- Supporting vulnerable members of the community or end of life care.
They may also support early intervention, reducing disparity or focus on preventative health and social care with a focus on diversity within the population.
How is it being delivered?
The Community Partnership Grants Programme is being administered by the Forth Valley Covid-19 Partnership. The Partnership consists of the following organisations:
- NHS Forth Valley Endowment Funds (Forth Valley Giving)
- CVS Falkirk
- Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface
- Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise
- Falkirk Health & Social Care Partnership
- Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health & Social Care Partnership
How is it structured?
There are three elements to the Community Partnership Grants Programme:
- Large Grants
- Small Grants
- Micro Grants
Large Grants
The Large Grants Programme consists of 7 grants of £15,000. Applicants to this programme are required to participate in a two stage application process. The first stage requires applicants to submit an ‘Expression of Interest Form’ by the closing date of 1st February 2021. These will then be assessed by the Forth Valley Covid-19 Partnership who will invite approved applicants to submit a full application before the closing date of 26th February 2021.

Small Grants
Small Grant applications will be accepted up to a value of £2,000. Application forms will be made available for download from 2nd February 2021 with a closing date of 26th February 2021.
Micro Grants
Micro Grants will be accepted up to a value of £1,000. Application forms will be made available for download from 2ndFebruary 2021 with a closing date of 26th February 2021.
Who is eligible?
The Community Partnership Grants Programme is open to any registered Charity, Community Interest Company, Community or Voluntary Group with a bank account and delivers services in the Forth Valley area which supports the following types of work:
- Support for unpaid carers
- People affected by drugs and alcohol
- People isolated and lonely
- Groups helping with wellbeing and mental health community support, suicide prevention and bereavement and end of life support.
Those who have failed to progress beyond the Expression of Interest stage for the Large Grants are welcome to apply for Small grants and Micro Grants.
When will grants be distributed?
It is intended that all grants will be distributed by the end of March 2021.
When must grants be spent?
Funds should be spent within 2 years of the award.
