The initial referral to our department usually comes from the oncology department and once you have received your first breast prosthesis you can call us and self-refer for replacement or additional appointments.
You will receive 1 breast prosthesis for normal wear and you may request a swimming/ sports one too.
They get replaced as and when they need to be. This could be due to wear and tear or issues like weight loss / size change.
If you are needing the breast prosthesis to be replacement you can call us, and we can order a replacement without you attending the clinic but if you would like to discuss change of size etc then an appointment will be offered to you.
Please ring the Orthotic department to arrange appointments: Tel 01786 434062
The clinic is run by a company that is contracted by the NHS. The breast prosthesis fitter is called Helen Rundell. She attends Stirling Community Hospital, Area 2 every fortnight. She comes to clinic with a selection of breast prosthesis so you might be able to be fitted on the day of clinic. If she does not have your size in stock, an order will be placed, and you will be notified when it arrives in the orthotic department office. Patient will collect from the office during opening times (please see below).
