Specialist Weight Management Support
This is a one year programme that supports you to make changes to your eating habits and lifestyle to better manage your weight, physical and mental wellbeing.
This programme is suitable for adults (18 years or above) with a BMI 30 or more with an associated health condition which would be improved with weight loss (such as Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, Heart Disease or Sleep Apnoea).
You will have an initial assessment with a Specialist Weight Management Dietitian to determine what type of support is most suitable for you. We offer both group and individualised support or you may benefit from a combination of both. We may also suggest other support as necessary such a stress counselling, sleep advice etc.
Group sessions are currently being delivered remotely via a digital group platform, but we are hoping to open up more ‘in person’ sessions in the near future.
Individual sessions are delivered ‘in person’ at Falkirk and Stirling Community Hospitals or remotely via video link or telephone appointment.
Your target Weight loss will be 5kg (1-1.5 stone)
Other support available
At assessment the dietitian will discuss your relationship with food and issues that may prevent you from successfully managing your weight.
You may be referred to our Eating & Behaviour Group if you are finding it difficult to control your food intake at times or if eating is linked to an emotional or comforting response. If necessary, you may require an onward referral to another specialist team for an assessment and support.
