Sepsis (a type of blood poisoning) is a leading cause of mortality in the United Kingdom, with 37,000 deaths every year.
Early identification and treatment increases the chances of making a full recovery. To make this happen a new leaflet has been produced to ensure that members of the public, patients and relatives work with health professionals to ‘think sepsis’.
The leaflet aims to increase awareness and gives details of the sepsis6 bundle that is being introduced across Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
