Family Fun at Larbert Woods

Forestry Commission Scotland is inviting parents and children to keep Sunday 17 August free for the Larbert Fun Day taking place at Larbert Woods in the grounds of Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Runing from 11am until 3pm, Larbert Fun Day has lots of exciting activities for the whole family, including Thai Chi sessions, falcon and wildlife displays, pond dipping, woodland walks and workouts and fruit drink tasting sessions.

Gordon Harper, Community Ranger, Forestry Commission Scotland, who will be on site on the day, said:

“It will be great family day out before the end of the summer holidays with lots of activities and we’ll even have Radio Royal broadcasting their show from Larbert Fun Day so that those who can’t make it on the day can still join us in spirit.”

Larbert Fun Day is part of Forestry Commission Scotland’s partnership with NHS Forth Valley which aims to encourage greater use of the woods around Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Tom Steele, Director of Strategic Projects and Facilities at NHS Forth Valley Royal Hospital said:

“This event is a great way to get families out and about enjoying the beautiful grounds that surround our hospital whilst benefiting their health and wellbeing.

“We hope it will encourage the local community to come back and visit again, perhaps bringing the family dog for a walk or simply to learn more about nature and enjoy the fresh air.”

The event is free to all and no booking is required. There is a patient/visitor car parking at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
