Forth Valley College Gift Donation
Students and staff at Forth Valley College have donated generously to a Christmas Gift Appeal for the Children’s Ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
The appeal was organised by the College’s Student Association who dropped the gifts off to the children today (Thursday 18 December).
Lorraine Simpson, the Student Association President said:
“We wanted to do something to give back to others this Christmas and decided on a Christmas Gift Appeal for the Children’s Ward at the local hospital. The hospital is at the heart of the Forth Valley area and we thought it would be good to do something for the children and cheer them up. It’s always nice when someone does something thoughtful for you especially when you’re feeling low.
“Staff and students have been really supportive of the appeal and we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of gifts we’ve received. This has been a really worthwhile initiative and we’d like to thank everyone who has kindly donated Let’s hope our gifts bring a smile to the kids’ faces this Christmas.”
NHS Forth Valley Play Specialist, Seonad Hopkins, said;
“We are really grateful for the donations we have received. It’s fantastic that the college has taken the time to do this for us. It makes a huge difference, not only to the children, but to their families as well. When you have an ill child this time of year, sometimes Christmas is the last thing on your mind. These donations help ensure that every child in our care will receive a gift on Christmas day.”
