The prospect of people being able to have their eyes tested at home has moved a step closer thanks to ground-breaking work carried led by NHS Forth Valley, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr Iain Livingstone. Two companies have been selected to carry out further research on the best ways for health professionals to carry out testing and remotely check results. If successful, this could considerably reduce waiting lists, ease pressure on clinic space, reduce the need for people to visit hospital and enable parents to carry out tests on their children’s eyesight at home.
