Janie McCusker has been appointed as the new Chair of NHS Forth Valley.

Jeane Freeman, Health Secretary, said: “Janie has extensive leadership experience at national and international levels, following 22 years’ service with the Royal Air Force and a term of office with UNICEF. She is also the current Chair of the Glasgow Colleges Regional Board.

“With this background I’m confident that under her direction, NHS Forth Valley will continue to provide a high level of care for those in the local area, and I look forward to working with her in the months ahead.”

Cathie Cowan, Chief Executive of NHS Forth Valley, said: “I am delighted that Janie McCusker has been appointed as our new Chair. She has a strong track record in governance, finance and planning as well as building relationships and influencing change across the public and private sectors.”

Janie McCusker will take up her new role with NHS Forth Valley from 1st March 2020 and replaces Alex Linkston, the current Chair of NHS Forth Valley, whose term ends at the end of February 2020.
