New GP and Minor Injuries Centre – Public Tours
Members of the public, patients and local residents are invited to have a tour of the new GP and Minor Injuries Centre at Stirling Health and Care Village, ahead of its opening to patients in mid August 2018. Tours will take place every half hour between 1.30pm and 4.00pm and 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday July 31st, Wednesday Ist August and Thursday 2nd August 2018. No booking is required and staff will meet visitors at the entrances to the new Centre.
The purpose-built Centre will provide more modern, spacious accommodation for a number of existing health services at Stirling Community Hospital which will transfer to the new facility. These include the Minor Injuries unit, X-ray facilities (2 X-ray rooms and 2 ultrasound rooms), GP out-of-hours services and Keep Well services. It will also house three local GP practices (Viewfield, Park Avenue, and Park Terrace), which are relocating to the more spacious accommodation within the Centre, and provide a base for Scottish Ambulance Service staff, including a number of specialist paramedics who will work closely with colleagues across the building.
The Centre is part of the Stirling Health and Care Village which has cost £37m to build, and is a joint venture between Stirling Council, NHS Forth Valley, the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Integration Joint Board and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
