University Honours for NHS Staff
Four staff from NHS Forth Valley have received honorary appointments by the University of Stirling.
Dr Catherine Labinjoh, Clinical Cardiologist, Marissa Parker, Chief Nurse, NMAHP Practice Development Unit, Dr Lyndsay Cardwell, Strathcarron Hospice Community Lead Nurse and Dr Karen Adamson, Deputy Medical Director have been appointed as Honorary Clinical Associate Professors.
Dr Labinjoh said: “I am delighted with this honour which also serves to recognise the contributions of the many great colleagues I have worked with over the years. I am excited to continue to work with NHS Forth Valley and the University of Stirling to improve and transform health and care services for the people of Forth Valley.”
Marissa Parker said: “Undertaking this role will strengthen the link between academic research and clinical practice, driving innovation in practice development and education.”
Dr Cardwell added: “My professional background is in palliative and end-of-life care, and I hope to contribute further to strengthening the knowledge base in this area through further research and supporting future health and social care professionals to develop their own knowledge in palliative care.”
Dr Adamson said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as Honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Stirling. I look forward to working in collaboration with colleagues over the coming months.
”These honorary appointments further strengthen the long-standing partnership between NHS Forth Valley and the University of Stirling. Together, both organisations will continue to drive innovation, support high-quality research, and enhance education and training for the future health and social care workforce.
