Langlees Dental Outreach Centre offers treatment to adult patients who are not registered with a dentist.
All treatment is provided by final-year dental students from the University of Glasgow under the supervision of experienced, qualified clinicians, and there is no charge for student treatment.
Treatment may take longer than in general dental practice (up to 2 hours), as supervised students work more slowly than qualified dentists. Many patients find the slower pace of student clinics less stressful.
The clinic has four surgeries. If your treatment requires more than one visit, it may not be carried out by the same student each time. Student clinics do not normally provide full dentures for patients with no remaining teeth.
You will receive one free course of treatment. Once completed, you will be discharged and advised to register with a dentist. The service does not register patients or operate a recall system. If your treatment needs are not suitable for a student clinic at your initial assessment, you will be advised to register with a general dental practitioner.
Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 2.30pm, during university term time only (mid‑August to end of April). The clinic is open from 8.45am to 4.30pm. If you fail to attend or repeatedly cancel appointments at short notice, your treatment offer may be withdrawn.
