New Patients – Langlees Dental Outreach Clinic
Langlees Dental Outreach Centre can only offer treatment to adult patients who are not registered with a dentist.
- All treatment is provided by dental students from the University of Glasgow in their final year of training under supervision by experienced, qualified clinicians.
- There is no charge for student treatment.
- Please note, if you have an urgent dental problem and are required to receive care via the Dental Helpline or NHS 24 weekend out of hours service, normal NHS charges apply.
- Treatment may take longer to complete than in general dental practice as supervised students work more slowly than qualified dentists.
- Appointments will take up to 2 hours. However, many of our patients find the slower pace of the student clinics less stressful.
- We have 4 surgeries in the clinic. If your treatment requires more than one visit, it may not be carried out by the same student each time.
- Student clinics do not normally provide false teeth (dentures) for people with no remaining teeth.
- You will receive one free course of treatment by a student and once completed, you will then be discharged and will need to register with a dentist.
- We do not register patients or operate a recall system.
- If your treatment need is not suitable for a student clinic at your initial assessment, you will be directed to register with a general dental practitioner.
- Appointments are available Monday to Friday 9.15 am -2.30pm during university term time only (mid August to end of April). Opening hours 08.45am -04.30pm
- Please note, if you fail to attend or repeatedly cancel appointments at short notice your treatment offer will be withdrawn.
