New Earn As You Learn Programme for Parents

NHS Forth Valley, in partnership with Forth Valley College, is recruiting eligible parents from across Forth Valley to take part in a 12-month paid education and work experience programme designed to help you start a career in Health or Social Care.

This programme is delivered in partnership with Forth Valley College and Local Employability Partnerships, and part funded by the Scottish Government Bringing Hope Building Futures programme.

Ward Assistant Employability Programme

Salary: £13.45 per hour

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.00pm (school hours)

Duration: 12-month fixed-term programme

Qualification: SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 6) in Health and Social Care

What does the programme involve?

This unique programme combines classroom learning with hands-on workplace experience.

Participants will:

Complete an SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 6) in Health and Social Care delivered by Forth Valley College
Gain a registrable qualification with SSSC to work within Health and Social Care settings
Gain practical experience as a Ward Assistant within NHS Forth Valley hospital wards
Develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to begin a career in Health or Social Care
Support ward teams and patients with personal care and activities of daily living

The programme is delivered during school hours, making it an excellent opportunity for parents looking to return to work, gain a qualification or start a new career.
