Royal Recognition for Vicky
Vicky Wright, Olympic gold medallist and Forth Valley Royal Hospital nurse, has been awarded an MBE in The Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours for her services to curling.
Vicky was the vice skip of the British Olympic Curling Team which won a gold medal at the Bejing winter Olympics and announced her retirement from the sport in May 2022 so she could focus on her nursing career and family life.
Cathie Cowan, Chief Executive, NHS Forth Valley, said: “It’s great to see Vicky’s hard work over many years being recognised with this prestigious award which she thoroughly deserves. Vicky is not only an exceptionally talented sportswoman but also a very dedicated nurse who is committed to caring for local patients recovering after surgery.”
