Celebration for latest graduates of THRIVE to Keep Well Programme
The latest cohort of graduates on NHS Forth Valley’s THRIVE to Keep Well programme have celebrated receiving their certificates at the end of a 16-week learning session.
The programme, designed to build confidence, motivation and self-esteem amongst women, saw two groups of participants come together in Camelon and Grangemouth to celebrate their achievements, journey to learning and making positive changes.
The recent THRIVE celebration day also marked 10 years of the THRIVE to Keep Well programme being delivered across NHS Forth Valley.
THRIVE Coordinator Jackie Turnbull explained: “The THRIVE to Keep Well programme provides workshops to increase knowledge, awareness and life skill learning to build on confidence, motivation, self esteem and find better ways to deal with day to day stresses, as well as advice on how to create a healthier and more positive lifestyle.
“It also gives participants of the programme opportunities to take up volunteering, learning or employment and become more skilled at supporting their children’s learning and development.”
Two THRIVE to Keep Well graduates, Emma Smith and Louise Carr, have gone on to careers with NHS Forth Valley following their completion of the Healthcare Support Worker Academy Programme and credit THRIVE with their success. They said: “The THRIVE programme played a massive part in our journey into employment and gave us the confidence to apply for the Academy training programme. If it wasn’t for THRIVE, we wouldn’t be where we are now so we’re very grateful for the support we received.”
NHS Forth Valley Keep Well has established an ongoing partnership working with Falkirk Council Employment Services who have committed to funding the THRIVE programmes in Falkirk. Home Start’s contribution and commitment as a key partner in providing a staff member to be trained up as a facilitator to deliver the programme has been essential to reaching parents within Falkirk and Grangemouth.
