Event Highlights Word to Join Up Local Health & Social Care
Moves to support people to live well and independently in their own home for as long as possible are to be discussed at a meeting in Falkirk. The event is being organised by NHS Forth Valley’s Public Partnership Forum (PPF) and will provide an update on the work currently underway to join up local health and social care services with Falkirk Council and Falkirk and District Association for Mental Health (FDAMH).
The integration of health and social care is set out in new national legislation which will come into force from April 2015.
NHS Forth Valley PPF Co-ordinator Jessie Anne Malcolm said: “Health and social care integration will change the shape of care services which are currently provided. The aim is to make it quicker and easier for people to access the support they require. By working closer together health boards and local councils can also support people to stay in their own homes for as long possible, surrounded by friends and family.”
The meeting will also include a presentation by FDAMH who will be showcasing various strands of their work.
The event is being held on Tuesday November 11th 2014 at the Council Chambers, Municipal Buildings, Falkirk FK1 5RS at 7.00pm.
