Day Surgery is located within the Ambulatory Care Unit. It is on the first floor of the hospital and conveniently located next to the theatre suite. It is a lovely, spacious and bright area. Some of the rooms have beautiful views across Forth Valley.
We have 16 trolley spaces and 10 recliner chairs. Procedures are carried out by consultants from many specialties – such as orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, oral and maxillofacial, general surgery and pain management.
We also have 14 single rooms. These will be used for all patients who require an overnight stay after their surgery. Some of these rooms have ensuite facilities and all have individual televisions.
We have four treatment rooms, which will be used for patients having procedures carried out under local anaesthetic e.g. minor operations and vasectomies. Many of these sessions are carried out by nurse practitioners.
