Day Surgery is located within the Ambulatory Care Unit on the first floor of Forth Valley Hospital, conveniently located next to the theatre suite. It is a lovely, spacious and bright area and some of the rooms have beautiful views across Forth Valley.
It has 16 trolley spaces and 10 recliner chairs. Procedures are carried out by healthcare professionals from many specialties – such as orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, oral and maxillofacial, general surgery and pain management.
There are also 14 single rooms for patients who require an overnight stay after their surgery and four treatment rooms for patients having procedures carried out under local anaesthetic e.g. minor operations and vasectomies. Many of these minor surgical procedures are carried out by advanced nurse practitioners.
