THRIVE to Keep Well is a 16 week health and wellbeing programme for adults experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing challenges.
Delivered in a supportive group setting, the programme helps participants better understand their own health and wellbeing, build confidence and improve self esteem. Participants are encouraged to listen to themselves, set personal goals, develop life skills and make positive changes.
The programme runs across Forth Valley between February and June, and August and December, and is delivered by NHS Forth Valley, in partnership with local councils.



What the programme involves
The programme runs for 16 weeks and includes one session per week lasting approximately 4½ hours. Sessions are delivered in a community setting and provide a safe, supportive environment. Sessions include workshops and activities to:
- Build confidence, motivation and self‑esteem
- Develop coping and life skills
- Manage day‑to‑day stress and anxiety
- Create healthier and more positive lifestyles
- Support physical and mental health
The programme also includes opportunities for self‑reflection, relaxation and creative activities.
Who the programme is for
The programme is for adults who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health and wellbeing challenges, including anxiety and depression. Participants are supported to:
- Improve confidence, self‑esteem and motivation
- Manage anxiety and stress more effectively
- Reduce isolation and meet others
- Gain a better understanding of their own health and wellbeing
Programme stages
The THRIVE to Keep Well programme is delivered in three stages:
Stage one – Health and wellbeing
Focuses on health, stress and anxiety. Participants learn techniques to manage day‑to‑day stress, build confidence and improve self‑esteem.
Stage two – Making positive changes
Focuses on life skills and identifying positive changes to improve personal circumstances and overall health and wellbeing.
Stage three – Moving on
Introduces participants to services, groups and opportunities within their community, including access to further education, volunteering and employment.
Outcomes and opportunities
The programme supports adults to:
- Set and work towards personal goals
- Overcome barriers
- Improve life skills
- Access volunteering, learning or employment opportunities
- Feel more confident supporting their children’s learning and development
