Supported discharge
A 7 day service that enables patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to be discharged from hospital as early as possible, ideally within 48 hours with support from RNS.
Pulmonary Rehab
We offer a pulmonary rehabilitation programme for people with lung conditions who experience breathlessness in daily life.
Specialist Nurse-led clinics
Outpatient work includes asthma and COPD clinics.
Nebuliser service
Nebulisers may be used by some patients for the inhalation of certain drugs to help with their respiratory condition.
Remote Monitoring
Identifies patients at high risk of exacerbation (acute attacks), direct access to nurse specialists, offering the ability to identify and treat COPD exacerbations early. Reduces admissions and promotes self management.
COPD-SAS Pathway
Scottish Ambulance service has direct access to respiratory nurses via the National COPD pathway to ensure patients with long-term respiratory conditions receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Oxygen Service
An integral component of the service is responsible for assessment and management of patients across the Forth Valley who require home oxygen therapy. This incorporates inpatient and outpatient assessment at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The team also facilitates home visits for home oxygen where appropriate or recommended.
