Specialist Rehabilitation Service

Description

The Specialist Rehabilitation Service (SRS) is a nurse- and AHP-led rehabilitation service. It is an integral part of the Major Trauma Network, though it is not condition-specific. Therefore, all complex conditions may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.

The SRU team often works with people who have brain injuries – either acquired (e.g., after an accident) or progressive (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis) -but can see any patient who requires intensive rehabilitation from two or more disciplines, such as physiotherapy and speech and language therapy.
