Description
he Olympic Flame burned bright at the Children’s Ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, thanks to a kind hearted torch bearer.
Dougie Gillespie from Larbert lit up the children’s faces as he offered them the chance to hold the famous torch.
Dougie, who ran the Forth Valley College to Falkirk Stadium leg, said: “Running with the torch was fantastic. Normally the thought of being in font of that amount of people would make me run the other way! But there was something about the day that meant you couldn’t help but wave to the crowds and smile.”
Dougie was nominated for his fundraising efforts and his dedication of helping young people.
