In this short video, Jane Hall, Dr Abigail Short and Dr Helen Tyler, who are all members of NHS Forth Valley’s Organ Donation Committee, discuss the importance of organ donation to mark Organ and Tissue Donation week 2024 and the launch of a new memorial sculpture at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Jane, a former NHS Forth Valley nurse, agreed to donate her husband George’s organs as they had discussed his wishes as a family before he died suddenly, aged just 56. Dr Abigial Short and the Dr Helen Tyler, the local and regional clinical leads for organ donation, also highlight why It is so important to have conversations about organ donation and share your decision with friends and family.
