Voting For New Integration Joint Board Members – Stirling

People in the Stirling area are being invited to select representatives to speak for them on health and social work issues and help shape future policy.

Voting will take place in the Lecture Theatre at Stirling Community Hospital at 7.00pm on September 23rd 2015 to choose a public representative from the Stirling area who will sit on a new Integration Joint Board. This important Board will oversee the work of the new Clackmannanshire and Stirling Health and Social Care Partnership which is being developed by NHS Forth Valley and Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils. In addition, there will be an election for a local service user to be appointed to the new Strategic Planning Group which will identify local goals and priorities.

Four candidates have been put forward for the secret ballot which will also see two people selected as deputies for these roles. Their remit is to make sure that the voice of local service users is heard, and give local people the chance to help shape the way that future health and social care services are designed and delivered across the Stirling area.

NHS Forth Valley Public Partnership Forum (PPF) Development Co-ordinator Jessie-Anne Malcolm said: “The roles involve attending meetings, taking part in patient and service users forums and becoming involved in public consultations. I am very encouraged by the response we received and I’m delighted that four people have been shortlisted for these important new posts. Whoever is chosen will receive an induction which will include background information about health and social care integration and an overview of all the services which the Board will become responsible for.”

The vote will be taken at an open meeting of the PPF which starts at 7.00pm and will also focus on a presentation of the service provided by NHS 24.

Similar elections are taking place on 30th September 2015 to elect public representatives from the Clackmannanshire area.
