Non-Routine Vaccinations
Some patients who have underlying health conditions, certain lifestyle factors, or are undergoing or have had recent surgery may be at higher risk from certain diseases. These patients may require vaccinations out with the national vaccination programmes. There may also be a requirement for vaccination due to a patient being at a particular risk, i.e., due to exposure to an infectious disease.
If a health professional treating a patient identifies vaccinations are required, they will refer the patient directly to our local vaccination service. Please note patients are unable to self-refer.
Once a referral has been received, the vaccination team will contact the patient to arrange a suitable appointment. The timescale of this will depend on the urgency of the vaccines required.
