Easter Fun Day at Larbert Wood
Forest Enterprise Scotland is encouraging everyone to join their eggciting egg hunt at Larbert Wood on Wednesday 12th April 2017.
Starting at 11am, activities will include an egg and spoon race, match the egg to the bird and more. Visitors are encouraged to dress up and don their Easter Bonnet for the chance to win a prize.
Larbert Wood surrounds Forth Valley Royal Hospital with mature woodlands, a network of paths and viewing platform over a lochan. It boasts spectacular views, including the Forth Bridges, the Lomond Hills and the Ochils.
Gordon Harper, Forest Enterprise Scotland Community Ranger, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for the local community to come together and have fun. As Easter falls in the middle of Spring it is a great time to get out and explore the outdoors. I can’t wait to see everyone dressed up ready to get involved in the Easter activities throughout the day!”
Transformation of the greenspace surrounding the hospital is the result of a partnership project aiming to encourage more people from the hospital and community to visit the woodland. Forest Enterprise Scotland, NHS Forth Valley, Falkirk Council and the Central Scotland Forest Trust partnered together to work on the grounds, including planting new trees, upgrading and creating paths and creating an environment that benefits local wildlife.
Gordon continues: “We hope everyone can come down and see what Larbert Wood has to offer, it’s a really great space for people to enjoy and to boost a healthier lifestyle.”
