Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination
RSV is a common and highly infectious respiratory virus that affects the breathing system.

If you’re turning 75 years old between 1 August 2025 and 31 July 2026, you’ll be offered the RSV vaccine. This includes if your 75th birthday is on 1 August 2025 or 31 July 2026. Your local NHS immunisation team will contact you by post with appointment details after you become eligible. Please wait to be contacted.
You can also get the RSV vaccine if you’ve not yet been vaccinated, and you’re aged between 75 and 79 years of age. To be eligible, your date of birth should be between 2 August 1945 and 31 July 1950. If you have not yet been vaccinated, you can contact the local vaccination team to arrange an appointment:
If you’re pregnant, you’ll be offered the RSV vaccine from 28 weeks. Speak to your midwife about getting the vaccine. Visit nhsinform.scot/rsv-baby and NHS Forth Valley – Antenatal for more information.

Attending your vaccination appointment
Please wear loose-fitting clothes to allow staff to administer the vaccine to your upper arm.
To avoid delays in receiving your vaccination, please arrive as close as possible to your appointment time.
