Programme Helps Local Women THRIVE
NHS Forth Valley’s THRIVE to Keep Well programme celebrated the success of 10 women who recently completed this Health and Wellbeing programme.
The 16-week programme enables local women from across the Falkirk Council area to support each other and achieve positive changes, personally and professionally It is designed to build their confidence, motivation, self-esteem as well as provide opportunities for volunteering, learning and employment.
The programme includes workshops to increase life skills and find ways to deal with day-to-day stresses, as well as advice on how to create a healthier and more positive lifestyle to support their physical and mental health. It also gives participants opportunities to take up volunteering, learning or employment and become more skilled at supporting their children’s learning and development.
Women are encouraged to set personal goals, work to overcome barriers and gaining a better understanding of their own health and wellbeing.
Jackie Turnbull, NHS Forth Valley’s Coordinator for the Falkirk THRIVE to Keep Well Programme, said: “The programme helps highlight the strong connections between our own physical, mental and emotional health.
“By actively listening to ourselves and investing in our own health and wellbeing we can all lead happier, healthier lives.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate our fabulous graduates and thank our local volunteers and partners including Falkirk Council and several community organisations. Special thanks to Falkirk’s Lord Provost Robert Bisset for attending the celebration day and for helping to make this event so special.
