Two staff from NHS Forth Valley have received honorary appointments by the University of Stirling.
Professor Paul Cameron, NHS Forth Valley Director of Allied Health Professions, has been appointed as an Honorary Clinical Professor for his contribution to the University of Stirling’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport, recognising both his academic and clinical expertise.
Prof Cameron said: “The University of Stirling is an international university with a global reputation for high quality teaching and research, and it is an honour to have been appointed to this role. I am looking forward to further developing an already close relationship with the university and driving forward both teaching and research opportunities for students and clinicians alike.”
Dr Pamela Scott, Lead Nurse for the Acute and Clinical Assessment Units, Urgent Care Centre and Frailty Unit at NHS Forth Valley, added: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Stirling. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring together my clinical experience, leadership background, and passion for developing the future nursing workforce.
“I’m really looking forward to working with students and university colleagues, sharing insight from acute care, patient safety and staff wellbeing as well as helping to strengthen the connection between academic learning and clinical practice. It’s a privilege to support the next generation of nurses and deepen the partnership between the university and NHS Forth Valley.”
These latest honorary appointments highlight a shared commitment to excellence in education, research and patient care. By bringing clinical expertise into the academic environment, both organisations will continue to support the development of a skilled, confident workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of healthcare services.
