Shingles Vaccination
The shingles vaccine helps reduce your risk of developing shingles. If you do get shingles, it can reduce how serious the symptoms will be.

How do I get my shingles vaccination?
You do not need to arrange your appointment. Our local NHS immunisation team will contact you when you’re eligible to be immunised. They’ll tell you:
- the date and time of your appointment
- where your appointment will be
We will contact you by sending an invitation to your home address. This is the address that is registered with your GP.
The local vaccination team will invite those eligible for their appointments from January 2025 onwards.

If you’ve already been invited for the shingles vaccine due to your age but have not yet been vaccinated, you can still get the vaccine until your 80th birthday. Please contact your local NHS immunisation team to make an appointment.
