Health & Social Care Staff Winter Vaccinations
If you’re a health (including Serco staff), social care or social worker who works directly with patients, or provides care and support services, you’re eligible for the flu and Covid-19 vaccines this year.
Covid-19 and flu spread more easily in winter when we spend more time together indoors and can cause serious illness. Frontline healthcare workers are also more likely to be exposed to these viruses.
If you are vaccinated and catch Covid-19 or flu, you are likely to have milder symptoms and recover faster, reducing your risk of seriousness illness. The flu vaccine also helps to reduce transmission of flu and spreading it to those most vulnerable such as elderly adults and people with health conditions.
Non-frontline NHS staff (including Serco staff) are being offered the flu vaccine and are also encouraged to take up the offer this winter.
There are a number of ways for staff to get vaccinated.
