Local Health Lead Awarded Fellowship by Edinburgh Napier University
A Practice Education Lead from NHS Forth Valley has been recognised for outstanding contribution to the field with the award of a prestigious Visiting Fellowship.
Claire Hedley has been awarded the title of Visiting Fellow in Occupational Therapy at Edinburgh Napier University’s School of Health and Social Care, following a decision by the University’s Visiting and Emeritus Panel. The accolade recognises her significant achievements and leadership in practice-based education.
In her role as an Allied Health Professional (AHP) Practice Education Lead, Claire has played a key part in supporting high-quality learning environments and strengthening the connection between academic study and clinical practice.
Speaking about the appointment, Claire said: “I am honoured to be appointed as a Visiting Fellow at Edinburgh Napier University’s School of Health and Social Care. As an AHP Practice Education Lead, I am passionate about creating supportive, high-quality learning environments and strengthening the bridge between academic learning and clinical practice.
“This fellowship offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with colleagues at Edinburgh Napier University to collaborate, innovate, and champion practice-based education that strengthens the AHP workforce and supports the development of our future Allied Health Professionals.”
The Visiting Fellowship will provide opportunities for closer collaboration between NHS Forth Valley and Edinburgh Napier University, supporting innovation in education and helping to ensure students and trainees are equipped with the skills and experience needed for modern healthcare practice.
Claire’s appointment reflects the continuing commitment across NHS Forth Valley to developing the workforce of the future and delivering excellence in education, training and patient care.
