Contact tracing at three Stirling schools

NHS Forth Valley’s Test and Protect team is currently carrying out COVID-19 contact tracing in the following schools:

  • St Modan’s High School
  • Bannockburn High School
  • Bannockburn Primary School

Initial information suggests the virus was contracted outside of the establishments and there is no evidence at this stage of any transmission within these settings. Robust control measures were already in place to protect the health of pupils and staff.

The individuals who have tested positive for the virus are self-isolating at home along with the rest of their household. To respect and maintain patient confidentiality, no further details will be given.

Close contacts of the individuals have been identified and advised to self-isolate in line with national guidance.

Parents, carers and staff at affected schools have also been contacted to inform them of the situation.

As we head into the October break, it is vital that everyone continues to adhere to the national restrictions to stop the spread of coronavirus and to protect themselves and others.

Please follow the FACTS guidance:

  • Face coverings
  • Avoid Crowded Places
  • Clean your hands regularly
  • Two metre distance
  • Self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms.
