Stop Smoking in the Workplace
Your workplace may have a stop smoking course available. This would give you a chance to attend a 7 week programme in the convenience of your workplace.
Alternatively your occupational health department may offer one-to-one support.
Health Promotion Service works in partnership with the local Scottish Prison Service to develop a whole prison approach to health and wellbeing in the prisons within Forth Valley. Stop Smoking support is offered to all prisoners on admission.
Stopping smoking is always beneficial to heath and it is never too late to give up – individuals are 4 times more likely to successfully quit smoking with help and support.
Programmes and Campaigns
Can you help?
NHS Forth Valley is looking for organisations who are willing to partner with them and commit to completing ‘Smoke-free’ pledges with their workforce and clients, both smokers and non-smokers.
The number of pledges completed would be entirely up the organisation. Some companies may find this a useful way of determining numbers of non-smokers in their organisation and using this in a social influence approach; for example ‘86% of our workforce does not smoke’
The Stop Smoking Service would provide coded pledges and additional written information to go alongside the pledges. Our service can track completed pledges, and get in touch directly with the organisation regarding numbers.
Organisations, who sign up, will be presented with a framed certificate which they can display.
Any organisation willing to sign up should contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
