Training
Our Public Health Nutrition Team at NHS Forth Valley offers a range of free food, nutrition, cooking and growing training courses to support local staff, volunteers and community members throughout Forth Valley.
“Delivering food activities through training helps to engage with people and get them involved and can lead to further learning and employability opportunities.”
Some of our courses are REHIS accredited and with successful completion of the course and by passing the exam attendees will receive a recognised qualification and certificate.
Here is a flavour of some of the training courses we deliver:
- Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Accreditation
- Getting Started – Introducing Solids or Weaning Sessions

Online Food Safety Modules
These food safety modules may be useful to train staff and volunteers around the key food safety, personal and hand hygiene messages. They can be used as a stepping stone before moving onto more detailed courses such as REHIS Food Hygiene or REHIS Food and Health.
The modules have quizzes attached so once individuals have worked their way through them, they can test their learning with a multiple choice quiz.
